Joni Hedinger (b. 1992) is a Swiss artist dedicated to documenting the Alps in a state of transition. His work is a archive of alpine landscapes and glaciers, capturing these fragile environments as they exist today. With the goal of preserving this alpine heritage for the future, he spends most of the year in the high-altitude terrain of the Alps.
Originally trained as a carpenter, Hedinger now lives and works in Rapperswil, where he runs a small gallery. His technical precision is also reflected in his role as an ambassador for the Swiss camera manufacturer ALPA.
A member of the photography collective The Alpinists and co-author of the Lost in the Alps books, Hedinger works on both independent artistic projects and selected commissions.
